In the Autumn of 2016 there was a massive outpouring of support for the struggle for clean water and Indigenous land sovereignty led by the Standing Rock Sioux in North Dakota. I made these prints in an act of mutual aid to raise money and awareness for this cause and be able to use my creative capacity as a tool in support of resistance.
The prints generated money that was given to the Standing Rock Medic and Healers Council, and have gone on to be featured in benefits and shows in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and the Queens Museum in New York (put together by the Justseeds Collective and the Interference Archive).
However, the fight continues, and you can continue to support and be informed by the Indigenous Environmental Network and the Medic and Healer Council.
